How it all got started
C.L. "Cubby" Hood was a baker in Uncle
Sam's Navy during WWII. While stationed on the battleship, USS Tennessee,
in the South Pacific, Cubby's home-style baking reminded the crew
of 2500 of everything their mothers would bake -- from bread and
rolls to pies and cakes, to his famous cookies.
"Cubby's" cookies were available around the clock, from
watch to watch. From the Commander who relished his favorites to
every sailor, whether in a gun turret, radio room, sick bay, or
just swabbin' the decks, "Cubby's" cookies were a daily
staple.
The tradition continues today
Today, Cubby's daughter, Vikki O'Donnell, and son-in-law, Bob O'Donnell, carry
on the tradition of baking his incredibly delicious assortment of
cookies.
Only the highest-quality, pure, all natural ingredients, flavorings,
oils and extracts go into Cubby's cookies -- just like you'd bake
at home! No preservatives or artificial colors or flavors are added.
